Rainbow Quartz Necklace

My niece's 7th Birthday and this was her birthday present from me.

When she visited us last summer she saw my workshop for the first time and asked to make some jewellery with me - I of course was delighted and we decided to make her a necklace. She picked this Rainbow solar quartz stone (probably the biggest stone I had 🤣 - a girl got taste) from my collection and we got to the bench and started work on this together - me leading and her contributing wherever possible.

It of course didn't get anywhere near finished on the short visit but we'd made a start and it has sat patiently on my bench ever since.

In September when she started school all the kids were asked questions to write down the answer to and one of them was what she wanted to do when she was older. She put make jewellery...my little heart

Earlier this year she then asked her mum 'i wonder what happened to that necklace we started' and I thought it was about time to get it finished for her.

Here it is all complete - I paired the finished piece with a leather cord for easy wearing and she was delighted to receive it.

Its so wonderful to be able to gift her this piece - something for her to treasure for years to come
